I do 2-dimensional artwork (drawing and painting) at my Los Osos home studio. I do my eclectic 3-dimensional work at my San Luis Obispo studio. I enjoy the challenges of working with fused glass, combining the precision of science with my aesthetic vision to design and make bright, light-catching, shiny objects that become either crafts or sculpture:
The functional CRAFTS include small utilitarian objects like jewelry, wind chimes, fountains, wine accessories, plus decorative bowls and serving dishes. The non-functional SCULPTURES are visual statements of self expression. Ideas come from everywhere, as the saying goes…"Art imitates life." I’m stimulated by the process of manipulating materials to solve physical and artistic challenges that always arise. Frequently the process will "spin off" new ideas for the next "dance", my next creative quest.
