About Austin Moore & Earth Art Gem & Jewelry

I have always enjoyed the creative process.  I went to Cal Poly to study Architecture and in 2006, I obtained my Bachelors degree.  I learned about design theory, model building, sustainable design and much more.  In the work place I learned how to use my skills as a designer to surpass the hurdles of everyday obstacles and limitations.  Now, I run my own design business, getting to run a small design studio on my own terms and my own time. It is truly liberating.  While being my own boss is a dream come true, architecture and design still held one very real limitation: It was design.

Enter Silver Smithing.  Inspired by the love of my life to put my skills as a designer to work, I began teaching myself the ways of the torch in November of 2009.  As of this writing it is less than 2 years later and I have made a life of creating works of art with my own hands.  Earth Art is the name of our company, which I run with Shasta Palmer, my love and inspiration.  We work together to create one of a kind jewelry using quality gemstones and metals.  I pride myself in offering a handmade product, and I do my best to also buy locally and handmade whenever possible. I try to run my company in the way that I would want others to run theirs, with honor and dignity.
